Autumn is the perfect time to save your trees from winter’s snow and ice, which can weigh down the branches and break them off.
PI Patrol was called in for an invasive species removal project in Kingston, NY. The health of these beautiful old pine trees were being steadily degraded by Bittersweet, Poison Ivy and Virginia Creeper climbing up the trees.
For years, these pine trees were constantly thirsting for more water because the invasives were soaking up the rain before it could reach the deeper tree roots. As they got higher, the vines began to steal the sunlight from its leaves. Over time the trees began to structurally weaken with the weight. It all added up to the invasives flourishing and the trees suffering.
We pulled everything off the trees and dug up the roots, much more effective than spraying chemicals. All debris we remove goes right to a tarp and then hauled away so that the yard is not contaminated.
Go outside and take a close look at the tress on your property. Do you notice their branches sagging? Are vines creeping up them? Is the ground covered with plants that are crowding out the deeper tree roots?
